Appearance: Similar to humans, distinguished only by their near-black eyes.

Unique Abilities: Betazoids have telepathic abilites which develop in adolescence, although a few individuals are born with their telepathy fully functional. These individuals generally require extensive therapy to survive in society, since they lack the ability to screen out the telepathic noise of other people. Betazoids are, however, incapable of reading Ferengi, Breen or Dopterian minds due to the fact that these species have four-lobed brains.

Personality Traits: Betazoid are generally uncomfortable around those who possess minds they cannot read. Also they tend to prefer small creatures as the minds of animals can be a bit frightening. Betazoids are completely honest, sometimes to the discomfort of those around them, and never think twice about speaking their mind.
