Classification: Humanoid.

Appearance: Similar to humans, distinguished only by pointed ears and angled eyebrows. Vulcans are slightly taller than humans.

Lifespan: 200 years.

Unique Abilities: Vulcans possess telepathic abilities and have approximately three times the strength of humans.

Personality Traits: Vulcan society is based entirely on logic, and any expression of emotion is considered to be socially unacceptable. Vulcans are subject intense emotional outbursts. They have a mating cycle which recurs every seven years. This mating time is known as Pon Far, and it is expressed as an unreasoning emotional frenzy for up to two months.

Government: The planetary government of Vulcan tends towards fewer controls. It is a representative democracy with three branches. These are the "Proposal Group'', the "Ratification Group'' and the "Expunging Group''. The votes required are designed to make it much easier to remove laws than to impose them.
